Apart from a childhood love of drawing, my earlier years were an art-free zone. I would have been in my twenties when I first stepped into a gallery. I’ve tried to make up for that since, visiting galleries and museums wherever I go. I try to appreciate all forms of visual art, but get drawn more to figurative painting.

I planned that when I retired I would learn to paint and that it would be my main hobby and am still working on it. I’ve tried a range of media but keep coming back to watercolour and graphite.
